Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) has announced that it is constructing a major 132,000 volts transmission line from Virarara to Koronubu in Ba.

EFL states this is in order to reinforce the power supply in the Northwest Region of Viti Levu and surrounding areas.

EFL adds ss part of this project the existing EFL power lines and customer service mains will be relocated out of the route of the new 132,000 Volt power lines.

“To enable EFL to undertake this exercise safely, EFL will be executing planned power shutdowns in the Koronubu areas from 6:00am to 6:00pm for the duration of the works,” said EFL.

The works duration is October to December 2024.

“Planned power shutdown will take place at any time of the week including weekend and public holidays.”

EFL adds customers will be advised in advance at least 3 days’ notice in the newspaper, EFL website and SMS.
