The Nasinu Junior Chamber promotes dental awareness for senior citizens at the Samabula Golden Home last Saturday through their community outreach program

The Nasinu Junior Chamber recently organized a community outreach program at the Samabula Golden Home to promote dental awareness among senior citizens.

The initiative brought together members of the organization and senior citizens for an afternoon focused on health education, engagement, and appreciation last Saturday (25/4/ 2025).

Nasinu Junior Chamber general secretary Dr Shalendra Kumar and Associate Dean at the College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FNU), Dr Mehar Angez emphasised the purpose of the initiative was to give back knowledge to the community.

“This program reflects our commitment to giving back to the community.

“Promoting dental awareness among our senior citizens is essential, as good oral health is closely linked to overall well-being and quality of life in our people.”

The Nasinu Junior Chamber is an organisation (NGO) of dynamic, committed, fun loving individuals over 18 years who believe they have something to offer their communities.

Dr Kumar said the organization’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities since its establishment in September 2020 helped strengthen community bonds.

“Our senior citizens are the foundation of our society. Their wisdom and lifelong contributions deserve recognition, respect, and continuous support. Through initiatives like this, we not only share knowledge but also strengthen community bonds,” he added.

The program emphasised the importance of oral hygiene among older adults, encouraging simple and practical dental care habits to prevent common health issues.

It also provided a meaningful opportunity for engagement, allowing members to connect, listen, and learn from the experiences of the elderly community.

Dr Meha noted that the dental awareness campaign reinforced values of inclusivity and care.

The Nasinu Junior Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to continuing similar outreach programs to build stronger, healthier, and more compassionate communities in elderly homes around the country.
