Residents of Nakasi will now be able to use the Nakasi Hard Court for physical activities once it is completed.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the facility was conducted by Minister for Youth and Sports Parveen Kumar and Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo this afternoon.
“This is a partnership project between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Embassy of China. At this juncture, I would like to thank His Excellency for accepting our offer for this partnership,” Mr Kumar was quoted saying in a Government statement.
“This partnership will go a long way in terms of providing sporting facilities to the people of this country.”
The facility will be handed over to the Nausori Town Council when it is completed for its maintenance.
