Indigenous company Nadonumai Holdings Ltd (NHL) is accelerating its rate of investment in Fiji as it announced a multi-million-dollar expansion of its investment portfolio, new property projects and land reclamation for future developments.

It was announced the 26-year-old holding company had acquired three more high-end properties to the tune of $9 million, and it was formalising ambitious plans to build a multi-storey and multi-function building in downtown Suva.

The new multi-million-dollar building will be constructed behind its very own Suvavou House – finally returned to the landowners after attempts over some 20 years – and is earmarked for completion in early 2026.

Among other future projects, NHL also announced its joint business partnership with potential businesses and investors in Fiji.

Officiating on behalf of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo said he was deeply proud of the role NHL had played as a model indigenous business entity.

“Your success not only showcases the potential of indigenous entrepreneurship but also serves as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of the Fijian people,” Mr Vosarogo said.

“In Fiji where economic success is often equated with non-indigenous or global with multinational corporations, Nadonumai Holdings Ltd stands as a beacon of hope, proving that indigenous businesses can thrive and excel on the level playing field with other similar businesses locally.

Tui Suva Sanaila Mudunavosa said the new projects were part of the holding company’s strategy backed by its commitment to “expansion and sustainability, positioning itself for continued growth and success in the real estate market”.

NHL chief executive officer Jiu Daunivalu said key stakeholders must work together to support indigenous-led businesses to excel in the present global competitive environment.

She said one cannot work alone to run a business.

Members of the mataqali Suvavou were joined by government ministers, diplomats, investors and bankers in the celebration held at the GPH in Suva on Saturday night.
