The Nadi International Airport will remain closed to the non-travelling public.

A statement from Fiji Airports (FA) read those farewelling travellers would not be allowed in to the airport terminal because of social distancing requirements and terminal cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

“Access to Nadi International Airport is restricted to ticketed passengers and airport staff with appropriate clearance,” said FA chairman Geoffrey Shaw.

“Passengers are required to provide valid travel documents at the security entry checkpoint.

“These restrictions, which have been in place since March, are aimed at providing a safe and healthy airport environment for the travelling public.

“As part of the new normal, we are maintaining strict protocols with enhanced cleaning and disinfecting routines after every flight.

“The wearing of approved face masks for passengers is mandatory within the terminal building at all times.”

Mr Shaw said health screenings were conducted upon arrival at Nadi International Airport.

“These measures are in place to ensure our arriving and departing passengers move safely within Nadi International Airport.”
