IT was a Lauan derby at the Cricket Fiji U19 Secondary School finals between Moce Secondary School and Ratu Finau Secondary School.
Defending champion Moce Secondary School proved once more they are the local Cricket kings in the Secondary School’s landscape winning the tightly contested encounter by two wickets.
Ratu Finau batted first and scored 117 runs. In reply, Moce managed to reach the target with two wickets to spare.
Moce team captain, 18-year-old Meli Fordy, said they expected tough competition for the finals, but they delivered a master class performance in retaining their title.
Winning head coach Vilisoni Rokodrew shared the intensity of the game has escalated and developed over the years with the competition becoming tougher.
He further expressed his gratitude to the parents, school and supporters for the support shown in the past three days of competition.
