The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is focused on reviewing and updating a number of critical health legislations.

While responding to the President, Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere’s address for opening of the 2024 Session of Parliament yesterday, Health minister, Dr Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu said the legislations are the Public Health Act 1935, the Nursing Act 2010, the Radiation Health Act 2009, and the Mental Health Act 2010.

“Other health related legislations are also being considered for review as they impact the collaboration and coordination of effort between the Ministry, other Govt agencies, and the community, in the efficient delivery of health services and the protection of public health in Fiji,” Dr Atonio said.
