A PART-TIME sports commentator charged with corruption-related offences has been granted a $5000 non-cash bail by the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

Ajnal Anal Bhai appeared before magistrate Yogesh Prasad on 51 counts of obtaining a financial advantage.

It is alleged that four years ago, between May 1, 2019 and May 31, Bhai engaged in fraudulent conduct by selling a piece of land in Makoi, which he did not own, to genuine individuals interested in purchasing land.

He allegedly obtained $106,100 as a result.

State counsel Rajiv Pathak informed the court the first phase of disclosures have been served.

Bhai was issued a stop-departure order and he must report to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption office in Suva once a month.

The case has been adjourned to May 9.
