A father of three will spend 12 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to hitting his wife with a metal stake.
The incident occurred in December last year at Velovelo settlement in Lautoka.
According to the High Court in Lautoka, the argument between the couple resulted in the accused grabbing the metal stake used for husking coconuts and proceeded to hit her on the head and limbs.
Justice Aruna Aluthge served a two-year sentence to the accused, ordering that he serve 12 months in jail with the remainder of the term suspended for three years.
