WORKPLACE wellness was up a notch at FIJI Water following the installation of nine healthy snacks vending machines at its Yaqara and Naikabula offices, offering employees a healthy snack and drink each day free of charge. In a statement, the company said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to employee health and well-being in the workplace and beyond.
“Supporting the health and wellbeing of our people is FIJI Water’s utmost priority,” senior vice president Operations at FIJI Water Damir Hlebec said.
“This initiative builds on our existing wellness programs, which are supported by the FIJI Water Foundation, and reflects the company’s commitment to providing practical, everyday support that helps our employees make healthier choices both at work and home.” Designed with employee health at the center, the vending machines offer a variety of nutritious healthy snacks and drinks such as Wonderful pistachios and sugar-free fruit juices and beverages. As part of the program, over 400 FIJI Water employees will have access to these daily options, helping employees build healthy habits. This initiative builds on FIJI Water’s broader, long-term commitment to employee wellbeing and complements existing programs such as Bula Produce Bags and Bula Lunches.
Bula Lunches provides healthy, subsidised meals while Bula Produce Bags delivers fresh produce fortnightly, making healthy eating easy and accessible for staff. Together, these programs promote nutrition, food security, and healthier lifestyles for employees and their families.
AVP Human Resources FIJI Water Susie Waqanibaravi said the initiative has been positively received by employees. “It’s great to see employees embracing these healthier options as part of their daily routine and this feedback reinforces the value of investing in programs that support employee wellbeing in meaningful and practical ways.” FIJI Water’s parent company, The Wonderful Company, is widely recognised for its many healthy programs and philanthropy, particularly for its employees and in the communities where it operates across the globe. In Fiji, that commitment extends through continued investment and support for initiatives such as the multi-million-dollar Fiji Rugby sponsorship, establishment of the $14 million FIJI Water and Neptune Pacific Career Centre and Agriculture development. In partnership with the FIJI Water Foundation, FIJI Water’s wider nutrition and community programs ensure that select products provide income-generating opportunities for women’s cooperatives in Tikina Naiyalayala and local farmers, helping strengthen local communities.
