RUSIATE Doidoi was the hero for the EXTRA Supermarket Labasa side as his goal in extra-time saw his side beat Navua 2-1 in the Battle of the Giants soccer final yesterday.
Playing in his first tournament for the northerners, Doidoi dedicated the goal to his family back home in Labasa.
“I dedicate my goal to my family. We were here in Suva for one week, away from my family in Labasa,” he said.
“Really proud of the boys for how they performed.”
Originally from Nasekula, Labasa, Doidoi started playing for Seaqaqa before joining Labasa in the last transfer window.
Christopher Wasasala had put Labasa ahead in the second spell before Jared Rongolisua equalised for Navua from the penalty spot.
