THE McDonald’s Fijian Drua Women head coach Mike Legge has called on fans to turn Four R Stadium into a fortress when his side hosts the NSW Waratahs for the Saturday’s Super Rugby Women’s grand final this Saturday.
The Drua enjoyed tremendous support during last weekend’s semi-final victory over the Queensland Reds, and Legge believes another capacity crowd can play a decisive role.
“I think a packed-out Four R Stadium is going to make it really uncomfortable for the Waratahs, and that’s what we want,” Legge said.
Legge urged supporters to come out in force and continue lifting the players throughout the contest.
“We want our fans to come out in numbers, to come out in force and continue to lift and uplift the girls.”
He said crowd support often helped players respond during difficult periods of matches.
“The crowd play a massive part in actually bringing them back up to the level we need them.”
Despite the physical demands of a long season, Legge confirmed the Drua expected to field their strongest available squad.
“It’s the grand final, so I think both teams are managing bodies but we’re going to be full strength when we roll out on Saturday.”
Fans can purchase tickets online through the Drua’s ticketing platform, while tickets are also available at selected outlets across the country, including Prouds, Jack’s of Fiji and Shop N Save locations.
Ticket prices are from $5 for Grass Embankment, $10 for Grandstand and $15 for Platinum.
With history on the line, Legge hopes a sea of Drua supporters at the Four R Stadium that can help inspire the team to its first Super Rugby Women’s championship on home soil.
