SAM Lee continued his fine form to take out the professional title during the Girmit Open Pro-Am at the Lautoka Golf Club course on Saturday. Lee shot five under par 64 to walk away $800 richer.

Roneel Prakash finished as the runner-up after carding one shot behind Lee. He collected $600.

Fiji PGA secretary Amitesh Chandra and Inoke Bolakoro carded three under par 66 sharing $460 each.

Barroon Hussain and Tomasi Tuivuna scored two under par 67 and received $340 each. Chandra said 15 professional players participated in the one-day 18 holes event.

He said play was held up after nine holes because of rain.

“Fiji Professional Golf Aassociation is grateful to Dr Ganesh Chand and the Global Girmit Institute for this sponsorship,” Chandra said.

“With the great interest generated, Dr Ganesh plans to make it an annual event with a bigger and better tournament next year. “We are looking forward to support their tournament in 2022.”

The next event on the Fiji PGA calendar is the Rum Co. of Fiji Pro-Am which will be played at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club course at Denarau Island in Nadi from April 23-24.
