DESCENDENTS of the girmitya are in Lautoka this morning to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the arrival of the Sutlej V vessel, which brought the last batch of indentured labourers to Fiji.
The theme for the event is ‘Remembering the Girmitya on the last Indentured Ship from British India’.
The event has been organised by the municipal councils of the Western Division.
