Lautoka oratory competition

Students from around Lautoka took part in the International Women’s Day Oratory competition based on the topics of women leadership and women empowerment.

A total of 31 orators across 10 secondary and 21 primary school’s took part in the Soroptimist International Lautoka organised event at the Lautoka Methodist Primary School Hall last week.

The theme for this year was “Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress”.

Soroptimist International Lautoka president Kriti Fong said they have been hosting the competition for the past 11 consecutive years.

“We are happy to see male orators also taking part in the competition.

“It is encouraging to see the advocacy on women’s right over the years are bearing fruits now, with male orators taking part.”
