The Lautoka City Council has continued its efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment at the Lautoka Bus Terminal through regular inspections targeting vehicle oil leaks.
According to the council, a total of 441 oil leakage bookings were recorded at the terminal between January and June 2026 by its Litter Prevention Officer, highlighting ongoing monitoring and enforcement measures aimed at protecting the environment.
The inspections are designed to ensure that buses and other vehicles operating within the terminal are properly maintained and do not pose environmental or safety risks to commuters and workers.
The council says the initiative contributes to a cleaner public space while encouraging vehicle operators to comply with maintenance requirements.
The Lautoka City Council reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the bus terminal clean, safe and environmentally responsible through continued inspections and enforcement activities.
