NEWLY crowned Miss Hibiscus Sala Korosaya called on Fijian youths to lean on their upbringing, faith, and traditional skills to navigate modern challenges.
This was during a joint celebratory feast organised by the Mataqali Vuci honouring her and her father, Yatu Lau Company chief executive officer Matai Korosaya.
Ms Korosaya acknowledged the growing difficulties facing local communities, particularly the sharp rise in youth unemployment.
She urged young people to remain anchored in the core values taught at home and to prioritise their faith, emphasising that a strong spiritual foundation brings clarity to all of life’s pursuits.
To combat widespread joblessness, she encouraged youths to capitalise on their natural talents and monetise traditional crafts, such as weaving, to generate steady income.
She further reminded parents of their crucial duty to actively guide, mentor, and support their children through these trying times.
