NEW Zealand artist Myshaan Komene is returning to Fiji eager to reconnect with audiences and deepen his ties to the local music scene.
Komene, who has performed at VT1S events in previous years, says each visit has given him a chance to experience more of Fiji and its culture.
“We’ve been coming to Fiji and just trying a lot of what Fiji has to offer, and it’s just kind of immersing myself into the culture,” he said.
His latest release, Magic, is a duet with VT1S artist Kali Tui, adding another Pacific connection to his growing body of work.
Komene praised Fiji’s artists for their talent, preparation and dedication.
He said his visits consistently leave him smiling.
As VT1S marks its fifth anniversary, Komene says he feels a responsibility to give more back to Fiji and encouraged greater collaboration among Pacific artists.
The VT1S concert will be held at the FMF Gymnasium at 6pm tonight.
