The judgment in a 2019 case involving a former executive of a large corporate organisation is still pending, two years and three months after the trial concluded.

The man’s indecent assault case was scheduled for judgment at the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday, but it has once again been deferred to July 28. He is alleged to have indecently assaulted a woman twice between June 25 and September 13, 2019.

This newspaper understands the matter has been pending judgment since the trial ended in March of 2024.

The two counts of indecent assault against the man were sanctioned by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He is currently on bail.
