IN a bid to capture the market demand for quality sportswear and gear, sporting company Tabusoro Group launched its Fiji business in Suva last week.

Group executive officer Abdul Azad said the business climate in the country was positive for investors.

“It looks good for the future. The launch of Tabusoro (Fiji) Pty Ltd is a proud moment. It’s a Fijian brand and it was only fitting that we launched it in Fiji,” he said.

“We design, produce and retail our products. We don’t buy and sell like our competitors, whose products are not tailor-made for the Fiji climate and market.

“We saw a demand for these products in the market and because of the focus the Fijian Government is putting on sports, I saw the potential that sporting products would probably have a better chance to sell here than anywhere else.”

Mr Azad, who is an experienced telecommunications engineer, said he moved out of the cutthroat industry to take on a different venture. He urged consumers to buy locally-made products and support local businesses.

The group also established Tabusoro (Australia) Pty Ltd with plans to set up a New Zealand branch in the future.
