FIJIANS will soon have the opportunity to become part-owners of one of the country’s leading hotel groups, following Warwick Holdings Fiji’s planned listing on the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX).
The announcement was made at the Grand Pacific Hotel in the presence of business owners, members of the diplomatic corps and hoteliers, marking a significant step towards greater public ownership in Fiji’s tourism sector.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka thanked Warwick Hotels and Resorts for opening its capital base to Fijian investors, saying the move reflected confidence in Fiji, its people and its tourism industry.
“Government will continue to work to streamline business approvals and remove unnecessary bottlenecks, however, lasting prosperity could not be built by Government alone,” Mr Rabuka said.
Also in attendance was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka, Investment Fiji Board chair Jenny Seeto and others.
