Fiji’s licensed hotels, resorts and lodging houses recorded $481.3 million in total earnings during the June quarter of 2026, an increase of $41.6 million compared with the same period last year.
According to provisional figures released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, total takings increased by 9.5 per cent from $439.7 million in the June quarter of 2025.
The earnings include revenue from accommodation, food and liquor sales, telephone services and other miscellaneous charges.

A total of 14,393 people were employed in licensed accommodation establishments during the quarter, compared with 13,407 in the corresponding period last year.
This represents an increase of 986 employees.
Despite the significant increase in revenue, hotel room occupancy recorded only a marginal improvement.
The room occupancy rate increased by 0.1 percentage points to 59.5 per cent, compared with 59.4 per cent in the June quarter of 2025.
Similarly, the bed occupancy rate rose slightly from 54.8 per cent to 54.9 per cent.
