Three of the five men arrested for their alleged involvement in a violent home invasion in Wailoku fronted the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Iliesa Lagivala, 20, Ledua Vakaloloma, 26, and Paula Draunidalo, 35, appeared before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza, charged with a count each of criminal intimidation, aggravated burglary and damaging property.
The three are alleged to have uttered words including “vamatea” and “tatalaki ratou”, which meant “kill them and chop them all”, causing alarm to the complainants.
They are also accused of entering the veranda attached to the home of Mr Radibi as trespassers with the intent to commit assault and also damaging his front glass door valued at $950.
The men were allegedly armed with a cane knife and an axe and escaped in a vehicle on May 22, 2026, in Suva.
The case has been transferred to the High Court in Suva for trial.
All three have been further remanded in custody pending their first appearance in the High Court on June 5.
Suva lawyer Jerry Dinati is representing the trio.
