A heavy rain alert remains in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands as a trough of low pressure affects the western part of the country.
The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi says occasional rain, isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are expected over the affected areas today.
The alert was maintained in the 5.30am weather bulletin issued this morning.
An easterly wind flow currently prevails over Fiji, while a trough of low pressure continues to affect western parts of the country.
Cloudy periods with some showers are forecast for other parts of Fiji.
Moderate to fresh easterly winds are expected, with moderate to rough seas.
Wet conditions are forecast to continue into Monday.
The outlook is for occasional rain, isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms to persist over Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
