A heavy rain alert remains in force for the entire Fiji group as a slow-moving weather system continues to affect the country.
The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi says a trough of low pressure, bringing cloud, showers and rain, is expected to linger over Fiji for the next few days.
Forecasts indicate occasional rain, with isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls, over the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, the interior and western half of Viti Levu, Kadavu, parts of Vanua Levu, Lomaiviti and the southern Lau group.
Areas likely to be affected include Ra, Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka and Navua, as well as interior regions of Ba, Ra, Nadroga/Navosa, Serua and Namosi.
Elsewhere, cloudy conditions with showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms are expected.
The weather office has warned that localised heavy downpours could trigger flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Members of the public are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and take necessary precautions.
