Group invests heavily in ops and people

THE Kimaya Group continues to invest significantly into the future of its operations and people.

Speaking at the recent Awards Night 2026 in Vuda, Kimaya Fiji managing director Damend Gounder that included the introduction of new vehicles and coaches.

“And for the first time in our history, electric vehicle (EV) coaches, a major step forward for Kimaya and our commitment to innovation and sustainability,” Mr Gounder said.

“These are important investments for the future of the business and for Fiji tourism, but they also come with responsibility.”

He said every journey undertaken by their drivers and operational teams’ carries not only passengers, but also the reputation, trust, and investment of the Kimaya brand.

“We must continue to take pride in looking after our guests, our property, and our equipment, while ensuring that discipline, professionalism, and safety remain at the centre of everything we do.

“And despite the economic pressures, we continue to see globally and here at home, despite rising costs, operational challenges, and uncertainty across industries, we must remain strong, disciplined, united, and focused.”

Mr Gounder encouraged the Kimaya Group employees to prepare for challenging times.

“We must be frugal with our spending across the business and at home. We have to survive as a business and you as a family.

“Competition will heat up and in times of uncertainty, service matters even more.”

He said in difficult times, guests will remember the warmth and kindness shown by the staff:

“They remember the smile at check-in, they remember the warmth of a greeting, they remember the attention to detail, they remember the feeling of being welcomed as family.

“That is the Kimaya way. Our service vision – ‘Creating joyful memories the Kimaya way’ is not just a slogan. It is a commitment. A promise. A culture.
