The Bula Groups Event Management Volleyball Tournament is hoping to make volleyball a major sport in Fiji and “give the fame it deserves”.
The organisers have set up platform to give players around the country a chance to compete during the tournament.
The event will be held on the November 28 at the Fiji Sports Council car park with 64 teams.
The prizemoney for the tournament is $3000 for the winner and the runner-up gets $1500 and for the teams that finished third and fourth will get $500 each.
There will also be prizes for the best player as well.
The theme for the tournament is “Let’s unite to end violence against women in Fiji” Director Alan Kumar said they were organising the tournament in a way that all men and women could took part and even the youths as well.
“We have men’s tournament and women’s tournament, under-19 youths tournament as well and we will mix them together to be as one as we want to have youths in front and have the women’s in the middle and mens’s at the back.
“The reason for that is we want youths to lead and become future leaders and women in the middle and men at the back as a way of showing respect to women.”
Kumar also encourages each and every person to register and take part in the competition if they are interested.
