Fiji Rugby Union board members and acting CEO Sale Sorovaki met Attorney-General Siromi Turaga and Solicitor General Ropate Lomavatu at the AG’s office in Suva this morning.
FRU deputy chairperson Daniel Whippy did not reveal what the meeting was about but confirmed they will meet again this afternoon.
“We just came out of a meeting with the AG and the SG. The meeting will be convened this afternoon so I can’t say anything much now until the meeting this afternoon,” Whippy said.
He added a decision on the annual general meeting, which is scheduled for this Saturday in Lautoka, will also be made this afternoon.
“I’ve got to wait till this afternoon.”
When asked if the board members had been asked to step down, Whippy said he would have to wait for this afternoon to comment further.
“Again, I have to wait for this afternoon.”
The A-G chose not to comment on the matter.
