The more than $620,000 spent on Bougainvillea plants for the beautification of the 6kilometer Nadi four-way lane has been referred to FICAC.

While the contractor hired by the Fiji Roads Authority has remained silent on the project handed to them in 2014, a smaller business has bravely come out with the revelation that they had only supplied a very small portion of the plants when the project was completed.

That’s the lead news on the front page of The Fiji Times for Thursday, March 28.

In the second story:

After years of neglect, some of the country’s aging infrastructure are unable to cope with the battering that comes with heavy downpours and flooding. As a result, the Coalition Government is forced to play a catch-up game, Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad said while referring to the issues faced by the country’s water systems, particularly in Suva.
