Four people are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital in critical condition after they sustained injuries when a public bus and a locomotive collided in Navo, Nadi last weekend.
Most of the 53 people on board the Sunbeam Transport Ltd bus suffered multiple injuries as a result of the accident.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the four passengers were two men, a woman, and a seven-year-old girl.
She said three other people were also admitted to the Nadi Hospital and were in stable condition.
She added the bus driver would be questioned soon.
The driver of the locomotive was a 45-year-old man from Moala Village.
“With the assistance of the NFA officers and members of nearby communities, the bus driver and more than 40 passengers were taken to the Nadi Hospital for treatment,” Ms Naisoro said.
“The locomotive operator and a boy escaped serious injuries.”
