FORMER President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau is the nominee of Government for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
The nomination was made by Government Whip Alvick Maharaj in Parliament a few minutes ago.
Ratu Epeli had also served as a Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2006.
Lawyer Tanya Waqanika was the the Opposition’s nominee as Speaker.
