Force to trust the process

HOME turf advantage, their 19-14 win over the Reds last week and sticking to their process are the main elements driving the Western Force into their clash against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua tomorrow night.

The Drua arrived in Perth on Wednesday with a mission to amend the cards drawn against them recently in their 35-50 defeat by the Waratahs last Saturday in Suva. But for the home side in the City of Light, sticking to their process for this match, as relayed by Force hooker Brandon Paenga-Amosa, is of the essence.

Paenga-Amosa told Australian reporters it all boiled down to adhering to their game plan.

“I think the reality of it is just process, just sticking to our process. I know it’s a cliche that we say that all the time but especially against a good team like the Drua, you need to just stay to the plan, stick to the script and usually that gets us through,” the Force hooker said.

A factor driving the Force forward for this round is the winning momentum from their victory against the Queensland Reds last week in Perth and the emphasis on winning the next two matches against the Drua and the Waratahs.

“We need to win these next two games, preferably with bonus points and we need a couple of other things to go our way,” he said.

“But the boys are definitely focused; that win against the Reds really helped us build more momentum towards finishing this year strong.”
