THE Victoria Wines Food and Wine Festival proved to be another success this year as some of the best properties in the tourism industry came out to showcase their culinary expertise that complemented fine wines offered by the sponsors of the event.
Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya praised the event and the participants for displaying Fiji’s flourishing food and wine sector in the industry on Tuesday night.
“The food and wine festival was absolutely wonderful and I think everybody that came here and experienced it last year has come back to say that it was amazing and was even better than last year’s festival,” he said.
“The culinary menus that were offered from all of the different properties was beyond our expectations and I think a lot of people ended up leaving the event quite late and I think that was an indication of how good the festival was.”
He said Fiji had a lot to offer in terms of the culinary sector.
“We had our celebrity chef Lance Seeto who conjured very creative dishes including a lobster ice cream which was something very creative and different and again unique to Fiji.”
He said the Fijian Tourism Expo this year was successful so far with many properties and international buyers able to foster new relationships.
