DINESHWAN Reddy has been fishing for more than 25 years and has had his share of unique experiences out at sea.
He marked another milestone of his career after netting his biggest catch on Monday.
He caught a kawakawa weighing more than 200 kilograms.
The 38-year-old said fishing was the main source of income for his family residing in Nadovi, Nadi.
“Between Sonaisali and Sheraton, there is about five to six metres of water and we normally do net fishing,” he said.
“This is the same thing we did, this time we put a bigger bait and waited for about 40 to 45 minutes before we caught the fish.
“We then got assistance from about five people when we reached shore to help load the fish in the van.”
He said his biggest catch weighed about 90kg previously.
