SUVA women’s captain Luisa Basei Tisolo has praised her players for their hard work after their 36-15 victory over Macuata last Saturday, which secured their place in the semi-final of the Subrails Marama Cup championship.

Tisolo thanked Macuata for providing a strong challenge, particularly in the first half, and said the victory would motivate Suva’s young players to keep improving.

“We thank the Macuata team. They gave us a strong game, especially in the first half,” she said.

Tisolo said winning matches encouraged the younger members of the squad to train harder and prepare for the challenges ahead.

“We have a lot of young players, and it motivates them every time we win to train and work hard for the next round,” she said.

The captain also acknowledged her teammates’ commitment throughout the competition, crediting their efforts from the opening round for helping the side reach the semi-finals.

She thanked the players for their dedication and the families who had supported the team throughout the tournament.

“I thank the players for the hard work from round one till now, giving us the victory,” she said.

“We thank the families who have been with us since round one.”

Suva will now turn its attention to the semi-finals as it looks to continue its campaign.
