Government’s foreign policies will be determined by what is best for Fijians.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Professor Biman Prasad while making this comment at a press conference on Wednesday said Government would enhance engagement with all its international partners.

“And we will be exploring possibilities and avenues of enhancing those co-operation in a much more deeper and meaningful way,” Prof Biman said.

“Our Foreign Minister is the Prime Minister himself.

The Prime Minister is a seasoned leader, a seasoned politician.

“He was prime minister for seven years before and he knows what international cooperation means. All of us in Government understand that and our foreign policy will be determined based on what is in the best interest of Fiji and our people.

“So, engagement with all our international partners, will be enhanced; will be taken to the next level. That’s what our government intends to do.

“It’s not about one country; it’s about our international partners that we’ve engaged in the past.”
