FRANCE-BASED TFL Fijiana players Litia Naiqato and Luisa Basei are back in the country to chase for a spot in team for the last leg of the HSBC Women’s World Sevens Series in France.
The duo who are members of the Stade Rennais Club have already started their training as they know it will not be an easy sailing to win a spot in the team.
Basei said it would be a tough tussle for them since the girls who are now in the team were performing well in the past two legs.
“We have good players in the squad and we’re looking forward to the trials next week,” Basei said.
“With the eight months we’ve spent in France we have gained a lot and it will help us prepare towards the trials.”
She said playing in the northern hemisphere had helped them develop their rugby career.
“At the beginning of the season it was hard because of the weather, food and mostly the language.
“After two months we finally got used to it and when we started the season we were fully equipped.
“In the fifteens I learnt a lot specially team bonding and as a local player to go out and to play in a big competition like in France is a big boost for us and for the Fijiana team,” Basei said.
