Popular Fijian TikToker Ana Masere was produced in the Nadi Magistrates Court today to answer to  a criminal charge against her.

Ms Masere, the operations manager of a tourism property in Nadi who rose to fame through her popular TikTok videos and four others face a count each of obstructing a police officer whilst on duty.

Charges against them read out in court indicated that the five were alleged to have obstructed a police officer in the due execution of his duty over the weekend.

A police prosecutor also filed an application for Ms Masere to be remanded in custody while police investigators continue their inquiries against her over the involvement of two juveniles in a recent competition held in Nadi.

However, defence counsel Shivneel Nishant Chandra told the court that her client had been in police custody for 48 hours and should not be kept in remand for an undisclosed charge.

Magistrate Nirosha Kannangara granted bail to the five accused persons and reminded them to return to court on April 3.
