THE Fijian Cup will return to Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this month, bringing together sporting talent from across the Pacific for four weekends of competition.

The month-long sporting event will feature four major competitions, beginning with Rugby 10s and Netball on November 13–14.

Touch rugby will follow on November 20–21, before Rugby League 9s takes centre stage on November 27–28. The tournament will conclude with Oztag on December 4–5.

Organisers are offering more than $240,000 in prize money across the four competitions, with each competition package also contributing towards youth development in Fiji.

The event is expected to attract teams and sporting talent from across the Pacific, providing an opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills while promoting sports development and regional competition.

The opening weekend will feature Rugby 10s and Netball, setting the stage for an exciting month of sporting action at Lawaqa Park.

In a statement games commiitee stated the plan.

“We want that growth to leave something lasting for Fiji, through stronger local coaching, opportunities for players and connections that continue beyond the tournament.”

Cash prizes feature across all five sports, alongside tournament package credits for champions to return and defend their titles.

The men’s and women’s Rugby League 9s champions will each receive FJD$7,000 cash and FJD$15,000 in return package credits.

“Netball and rugby 10s will give the opening weekend a fresh energy, followed by Touch, Rugby League 9s and Oztag,” said Luke Chapman, Fijian Cup Experience Director.

“For local players, it is a chance to test themselves against visiting teams on home ground.

“For supporters, it means four weekends of sport to get behind.”
