The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi has forecast cloudy periods with brief showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.
The forecast follows the detection of a high-pressure system to the Southeast of Fiji that is directing a strong Southeast wind flow over the island.
Fine weather is, however, forecast apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers elsewhere.
The weather office has also maintained its strong wind warning for Rotuma waters.
Over waters, Southeast winds 20 to 25 knots, rough seas, and moderate southerly swells; and over land, moderate to fresh Southeast winds.
Also in its bulletin issued at 11am today, the weather office has also issued a strong wind warning for all Fiji waters.
Winds will east later today.
