Members of the Digicel Fiji under-15 women’s national side will be heading into camp next month as they prepare for the upcoming Oceania Football Confederation Development which will be held in Lautoka in May.

This was confirmed by Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf.

“Yes, the team will be heading into camp for the whole of April before the tournament begins in May,” Yusuf said.

There will be a total of seven teams competing in the tournament.

The national side will camp in Suva throughout next month before moving their camp site to the FFA Academy in Ba for the duration of the tournament.

“They will first camp in Suva before moving camp to Ba as the tournament will be held in Lautoka from May 4-14.”

Yusuf confirmed the players would attend classes at schools in the Capital City with the association providing tutors to help the players in their studies.

“We will be putting them into schools here in Suva so that they do not miss out on any classes.

“We will also be providing them with tutors to help with their studies.”

He said the tournament would help with the development and exposure of players who would be part of their under-16 team competing in World Cup qualification tournaments.

“This is basically for our development.

“These players are our future Kula players, and this tournament will help us with their development.”

The side was selected yesterday after the selection processes all over Fiji.

“We have players from all over Fiji who have undergone our selection process.

“We have players from Seaqaqa, Ra, Macuata and Labasa who are part of the final squad.”
