Police are investigating the ambush-style attack on a man in Lautoka on Thursday night that resulted in his death.
Apakuki Tavodi, 35, was standing along the roadside at Saweni around 8.30pm on Thursday night when he was attacked.
“A passing car stopped, an unknown person got off, stabbed him with a knife and got away in the vehicle,” said police spokesman Wame Boutolu.
“He was rushed to hospital, admitted and he passed away this morning (yesterday).”
Tavodi was a carpenter by profession.
Mr Boutolu said investigations were continuing.
