The High Commission is advising Fijians to prioritise their personal safety and follow all instructions and advisories issued by local authorities.
Nationals have been urged to avoid affected, high-risk and restricted areas, particularly locations experiencing landslides, flooding, road closures and other hazards.
The advisory also calls on Fijians to avoid unnecessary travel to disaster-affected areas and to confirm the safety and accessibility of routes before undertaking any journey.
Fijians in Nepal and Tibet are also encouraged to maintain regular contact with family members and keep them informed of their location and wellbeing.
The High Commission says passports, identification, essential medicines, emergency supplies and communication devices should be kept readily accessible.
Nationals are further advised to monitor official weather, disaster-management and transport advisories, rather than relying solely on unverified information circulating on social media.
Where it is safe to do so, Fijians are encouraged to register or update their presence and contact details with the Fiji High Commission in New Delhi, particularly if they are in or travelling to affected areas.
The High Commission has also asked that any emergency, injury, missing person or difficulty making contact with a Fijian national be reported immediately.
The Fiji High Commission says it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as reliable information becomes available.
Fijian nationals requiring urgent consular assistance are encouraged to contact the High Commission in New Delhi at the earliest opportunity.
