Thousands of Labasa fans left the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday with smiles as their team still has a chance of making the semi-finals of the 2023 Digicel Fiji FACT.

Down 2-nil against Nadi in the first spell, the Labasa side were on its way out of the tournament but fought back to end the match 2-2.

Ashneel Raju pulled one back before the break to give some hope to the Labasa side.

Nadi led 2-1 at halftime.

Things got worse for Labasa when defender Lekima Gonerau was red carded for a dangerous foul.

It was the boots of Edwin Shayam which got the second goal for the Babasiga Lions.

Shayam came in with a stunner free kick to send the Labasa fans into a frenzy.

Labasa needs a win against Tailevu Naitasiri today and will hope Rewa beats Nadi to make it to the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, in other matches yesterday, Rewa and Tailevu Naitasiri played to a nil-all draw while Lautoka thumped Navua 4-2.

Suva was playing Ba when this edition went to press last night.
