Fiji Airways will reinstate its direct service between Nadi and Nouméa from September 22, 2026, strengthening regional connectivity and opening up more than 10,000 additional seats annually between Fiji and New Caledonia.
The twice-weekly service will operate every Tuesday and Friday using Fiji Link’s ATR 72-600 aircraft, providing travellers with direct access between the two Pacific destinations.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, , said New Caledonia remained an important market for the national airline.
“New Caledonia is a stunning destination and an important market for Fiji Airways. Reinstating this service creates exciting new opportunities for travellers, whether visiting Fiji for our world-renowned hospitality or exploring the unique French Pacific culture of Nouméa,” Mr Scurrah said.
He said the additional capacity would provide a significant boost for tourism, trade and people-to-people connections across the Pacific.
The airline said the route would also support growing demand from regional organisations and development agencies, with both Nouméa and Suva serving as key hubs for Pacific intergovernmental and development institutions.
Travellers from New Caledonia will also gain improved access to Fiji Airways’ international network, including connections to New Zealand, the United States and Canada through Nadi.
Tickets for the service went on sale today through Fiji Airways’ website and authorised travel agents.
Under the schedule, flight FJ291 will depart Nadi at 8am and arrive in Nouméa at 10am, while the return flight FJ290 will leave Nouméa at 10.45am and arrive in Nadi at 2.45pm.
To mark the launch, Fiji Airways is offering introductory return economy fares from $739 for travel between Nadi and Nouméa. The promotional fares are available for booking until June 16 for travel between September 22, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
