Fiji Airways: Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft are airworthy

FIJI Airways has maintained that its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft are airworthy, and aircrew has gone through extensive training above and beyond the training mandated by Boeing.

The crash of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 in Addis Ababa Sunday which caused the deaths of 149 passengers and eight crew also resulted in the grounding of the aircraft type in a number of countries including China and Singapore.

The incident sparked global concern because it was the second crash of the state-of-the-art aircraft in five months after a Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed in the Java Sea, Indonesia in October last year.
