In a bid for a pay increase, the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has submitted a job evaluation exercise to Cabinet.

This was revealed by FCS acting commissioner Salote Panapasa when asked if they were pushing for a pay increase.

Ms Panapasa said the job evaluation exercise, aimed at assessing and standardising job roles and salaries, has been a topic of discussion and anticipation for months.

“We are crossing our fingers as we await the final approval,” she said, adding a decision would be made by Cabinet.

“We had submitted it weeks ago and we’re awaiting the decision.” She said this was a significant step forward in their commitment to fostering a fair and inclusive workplace environment.
