FIJI’S media fraternity will gather at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on November 28 for the 2026 Fiji Achievement in Media Excellence (FAME) Awards.
The event follows the successful revival of the awards last year after a 17-year absence, attracting more than 400 media professionals and industry stakeholders.
This year, 30 awards will be presented across 26 competitive categories, recognising excellence in print, radio, television, digital journalism, photography, commentary, presenting, marketing and advertising.
Several categories have been refined, with sports reporting now recognised separately from print news.
New categories include Best Media Website, Best Thematic Journalism, Best Digital Storytelling and Most Innovative Digital Team.
Fijian Media Association General Secretary Stanley Simpson said the awards were an important celebration of the profession.
“FAME reminds us that we share the common cause of journalism.
“It gives us the opportunity to recognise excellence, celebrate our people and enjoy a night together.”
FAME chairman Shane Hussein said the awards had quickly become a major event for Fiji’s media industry.
The Hall of FAME will remain an annual feature recognising people whose careers have made a lasting contribution to Fiji’s media industry.
