THE Fijiana 7s team has two new players for the Canada 7s this weekend.
Lavenia Tinai, because of injury, has been replaced by Aloesi Nakoci, and Vilisi Vakaloloma replaced Asinate Savu.
Coach Iliesa Tanivula said Vilisi replaced Savu because she was fit and had trained well.
“To reward Vakaloloma with her effort, I took her in instead of Savu,” the former New Zealand 7s rep said.
“Savu needs to regroup and put her head back into the game if she wants to continue to play for Fiji
“All players are talented, but if you’re not up to par with your training or your fitness, you will be dropped.”
He said the players had trained well and were enjoying the warm weather in Canada.
“We have prepared accordingly to our training plan from our last 7s series tournament.
“We want to improve and aim to be consistent . If we can do better and reach the semi-finals, it will be great for the team.
“But it all comes down on the day that we play how much we really want to win as a team.
“Individually players have responded well and are injury free and we’ve settled in well in Victoria.
“We spent one night in Vancouver and thanks to Eseta Bati and family for opening their house to the girls,” he said.
He thanked their families and supporters for rallying behind the team.
The team is in Victoria Canada as they prepare for their second last women’s 7s series.
