Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women’s coach Mosese Rauluni has a lot of respect for the New South Wales Waratahs.
Unbeaten throughout the regular rounds, the Tahs set the benchmark that the other five teams in the Super Rugby W tried to reach.
Handing their opponents tough defeats this season, including a 62-21 bashing of the Fijian Drua women, the four-time Super W champions are gunning to get their hands on a title they last won in 2021.
Despite their ruthless run, locks Sera Naiqama said they’re the underdog team heading to the final of Super Rugby W tomorrow.
Rauluni thinks otherwise.
“New South Wales is sharp on their tackles, they are sharp, solid, and very fit. Like the Fijiana, they like to run the ball so, their skillset has been outstanding. I’ve been watching a lot of their games, and they really function well as a group,” he said.
The former Flying Fijians captain has laid his plans and strategies which should go well if the players stick to them.
“The big thing for us is we must get our set-piece right, cut down on our mistakes and penalties. Any opportunity we give NSW in this game is going to cost us so I guess we must not give them any space, any yards, and avoid silly penalties like those we gave away last weekend,” Rauluni added.
The team will have its captain’s run today and will run out for their third consecutive final tomorrow at 4pm.
The final will be played at Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane.
